Laser disc is first optical disc format invention before dvd was even thought of as conception.

What a dvd? not saying that as i do not know. That what you'd ask sense format never existed as thing back in the day.

New specialty editions of laserdisc players that include playback as new feature. DVD was not relevant back in the day when laserdisc was around. So this is new adaption to laser disc players near 2000s.

Depends on player you buy, such as one I got for father one Christmas in 2018 new from Japan. has new feature to play dvd and karaoke in last revision of laser disc player modules.

❤️ Part i've always loved, laser disc had advantage over VHS with movie theatre Surround sound coding built into discs with more extra options and specialty features than dvd.

Dode it work only with American? Got lot of laser discs from japan ntsc-Jap. In muh laser disc film collection.
